A machine doesn't appear

Discovery runs every 15 minutes. With a tag set, only tagged machines can be managed. Check the Machines page for a reason it can't be managed.

A machine doesn't stop

Open it from the Machines page: it shows who or what is keeping it on (requests, schedule windows) and any error from AWS. A machine started in the AWS console stops after 30 minutes. CostCapper retries failed actions with growing gaps, and emails admins after three failures in a row.

Sign-in links don't arrive

• Use Send me a test email on Settings.
• Check the address is at an allowed domain, or on the People page and not turned off.
• Each address can ask for five links an hour.
• With SES, the From address must be verified, and an account still in the SES sandbox can only email verified addresses.

Locked out

Five wrong passwords pause password sign-in for that account for 15 minutes. If no one can sign in, use the admin account.
